Revision of Secretin Receptor Knockout from Tue, 2010-12-14 11:30

Description: 

Exon 1 of the secretin receptor was replaced with a lacZ reporter using the AB2.2 ES cell line.  Mice are fertile and fully viable and have normal body weight.  The mice show impaired synaptic transmission and long term potentiation in the hippocampus.

This line was prepared in the laboratory of Allan Bradley at Baylor University by Dr. Ichiko Nishijima now at Ohio State University and used to study brain function.  The Williams lab is using them to study pancreatic function.  They can be obtained from Dr. Williams with permission from Dr. Nishijima.
