I am an intensivist working at the Surgical ICU of the Ghent University Hospital in Ghent, Belgium. After completing my training in general surgery and critical care, I became a full-time critical care physician, and joined the multidisciplinary team of intensivists at the Dept. of Critical Care Medicine in at the Ghent University Hospital. My main clinical interests are optimization of antibiotic therapy, antibiotic resistance and abdominal catastrophes, and these have become my most prominent as research activities.
