About Me:
My PhD thesis is about the relationship between acidosis in the pancreatic juice and pancreatitis. Using multi-photon fluorescence microscopy and patch-clamp, work in one chapter of the thesis unveiled a new function of the pancreatic acinar cell, neutralizing acidic secretion from zymogen granules by transporting bicarbonate ions into the acinar lumen. These data has been published as a cover story in the Journal of Biologic Chemistry in Aug 2016. This work has been recommended in F1000Prime.
would aid to study the relationship between extracellular pH and tumor metastasis.
My master thesis is about a protein called tissue factor pathway inhibitor. Briefly, we designed a recombinant tissue factor pathway inhibitor and expressed it in Pichia Pastoris system. The protein was then purified by using chromatographic columns. The activity of purified proteins was measure using an ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy method.
I worked in leading Contract Research Organizations in China for about four years before PhD study. My duty was to develop and perform high throughput and high content drug screening assays, to express and purify recombinant proteins/antibodies, to train junior members, to write and present scientific reports, and to communicate and collaborate with scientists from other departments and external collaborators. Drug targets included: kinases, GPCRs, isomerases and transferases. I acquired experiences on cancer research when I worked in Pfizer CrownBio Research Center for Asian Cancers.
